Doug Kahle graduated Magna Cum Laude and ranked 2nd in his class of 180 students at the University of Toledo College of Law before serving for two years as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Richard Mills, U.S. District Court Judge for the Central District of Illinois in Springfield.

Judge Mills also served by designation on the Eleventh U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals while Mr. Kahle served as his Law Clerk. He then moved to Chicago to serve as Law Clerk to the Honorable James H. Alesia, U.S. District Court Judge for the Northern District of Illinois.

Mr. Kahle received his undergraduate degree in Accounting and received numerous honors at the University of Toledo College of Law, including Order of the Coif and serving as an Editor of the University of Toledo Law Review. He is the author of U.S. v. Nordic Village, Inc.: Unequivocal, Yet Unwarranted Support for Sovereign Immunity, 25 U.Tol.L.Rev. 325 (1994).

He also worked at Law Clerkships for an Ohio Appellate Court Judge and at the Internal Revenue Service, Office of Chief Counsel, in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Kahle has extensive experience handling business litigation, including securities litigation and arbitration, insurance agent defense, construction litigation, life insurance and disability insurance claims defense, contracts and non-compete litigation, real estate-related litigation, and accountant malpractice defense, and intellectual property litigation.

On most weekends, Mr. Kahle can be found scuba diving off the coast of Florida and photographing the creatures that inhabit the oceans. Most of his scuba diving is in the waters near Palm Beach County and the Florida Keys, but he frequently travels to photograph creatures in the waters off of Dominica, the Amazon River, the Arctic Circle, Cape Cod, Grand Cayman, St. Vincent, Australia, Hawaii, the Sea of Cortez, Cozumel, Curacao, and the Bahamas.
